Humor, satire, and absurdity are synced in Charlotte Gash’s performances. In The Gash Club, she looks into the future yet still delivers a narrative about current events: a descendant of Gash has transformed the Forum Stadtpark basement into an illegal cabaret. The audience and she herself have snuck in to secretly watch one of the monthly performances, hiding from the tyranny of a regime that has banned comedy. Gash’s descendant explains her situation through cardboard props, costumes, and storytelling, eerily comparing it to the past—our present.
